About:

Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. $25 - Adults; $10 - Under 18 LittleWashingtonTheatre.com Political satirist, Mark Russell, will return to the Theatre at Washington, Virginia, on Saturday, October 22nd for his annual performance here, which always attracts a large and enthusiastic audience. Many will recall Mark’s widely acclaimed television shows on PBS as well as his regular performances at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.

“Russell, who moved from Buffalo, N.Y., to Washington, D.C., as a kid, echoes a Norman Rockwell-type personality who finds himself at the epicenter of world politics. He is a simple, good-natured patriot. He is lighthearted, but sharp and honest. He stands among the powerful with the outsider’s voice of reason. He is a Shakespearean fool in the nation’s capital.” - Washington Post Mark transforms the day’s headlines into stand-up comedy, accompanying himself on the piano. And his answer to the frequently asked question, "Do you have any writers?" is "Oh, yes...I have 535 writers. One hundred in the Senate and 435 in the House of Representatives.” He finds the humor hidden in the pomposity of public life and takes the audience along for the ride, laughing all the way. Tickets may be available at the box office on the night of the performance; however, reservations are highly recommended.
