After the harvest in ancient India, the Festival of Lights, or Diwali, marked the end of the farming year. As grape growers in Virginia, Sudha and Pandit keep the tradition alive every fall here in Amissville. 5:00-7:00: Plated Dinner. (Platters must be pre-ordered.) 5:30: Come outside on the deck or patio to see the lighting of our bonfire. 6:30: Pandit and Sudha's grandkids perform a Bollywood dance in the Wine Cellar. 7:00: Want to learn some great Bollywood dance moves? Pandit and Sudha's daughter-in-law Jaya Mathur Patil of the Dance to Health Society will show you how! Jaya has performed at the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian, and at Wolf Trap. After the lesson, you are all invited to dance! 7:30: Fireworks Our tasting room is open for tastings and sales from 11am-4:30pm. Wines by the bottle and by the glass will be served during the Diwali celebration (5-8pm).
