No Begging! Run Your Nonprofit Like A Business

They may be charities, but they shouldn’t be charity cases. No begging! Run your nonprofit like a business, because that’s what it is. You can only beg, borrow and steal goods and services for your nonprofit organization for so long, and it won’t get you very far. Learn how to treat your organization like a small business and not only will it appear as a much more professional organization, it will be able to not just sustain itself, but grow.

In this seminar nonprofit leaders will learn how to develop and implement the following strategies so that their charities run like ‘business as usual’:

  • Preparing financial statements
  • Diversifying income streams
  • Creating an effective pitch
  • Developing human assets
  • Tracking and reporting

Jennifer E. Goldman, President of Resonance, LLC, is an established community relations specialist, GMU School of Management graduate, and certified nonprofit manager. None of which will matter when she’s dead. She considers the important stuff to include having raised two intelligent and thoughtful young men, fiercely maintaining close friendships with her strong and powerful friends, allowing the fluffiest neighborhood cat to adopt her, and making a positive difference in nonprofits, businesses and her community.

Target Audience: Founders, Executive Directors, Board members, senior leadership

Program attendance is complimentary for board, staff and volunteers of organizations operating within the PATH Foundation service area (northern Culpeper, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties). For participants from other organizations, a $25 charge applies.
