As part of the 24th season in the Smithsonian at Little Washington concert series, Heather Green, violin; James Lee, cello; and Kenneth Slowik, piano, will present a program of Haydn Piano Trios. Kenneth Slowik, pianist for this concert, is artistic director of the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society. During his long and distinguished career, Kenneth Slowik has been associated with numerous orchestras including the National Symphony, and the Baltimore, Vancouver and Quebec Symphonies. Heather LeDoux Green joined the National Symphony Orchestra in 2005, and became a member of the first violin section in 2007. She was previously the Assistant Concertmaster of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra and a member of the Fort Worth Symphony. She has performed with the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, Spoleto, Sun Valley, Music in the Mountains, and Round Top. James Lee was born in the San Francisco bay area, where he made his debut with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra at the age of 15. He received his bachelor's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and his master's degree from The Juilliard School. That same year, he became a member of the National Symphony Orchestra. At Juilliard, Mr. Lee served as principal of both the Juilliard Orchestra and the Juilliard Chamber Orchestra. As winner of the prestigious Juilliard Cello Competition, he was a featured soloist at Alice Tully Hall. Mr. Lee's teachers have included Margaret Rowell, Bonnie Hampton, Leonard Rose, and Joel Krosnick.
